i think its pretty telling that aizawa is only ever called “aizawa” by his students. every other pro teacher is referred to by their hero name (mic, midnight, recovery girl, etc etc), but no one calls aizawa eraserhead. theres a pretty significant difference between all might and toshinori, between present mic and hizashi, but aizawa is just aizawa, whether he’s teaching class or taking a nap or kicking a criminal’s ass. he doesn’t have a hero persona, because it’s so intrinsic to who he is
also imo it gives way more of a personal touch! all might, present mic, recovery girl— all have this distant, almost respectful boundary it can feel. izuku is toshinori’s hier and he still doesn’t even call him yagi. storywise, aizawa is a much more personal figure to them— they’re close and have been through a lot. they have a connection with aizawa that they don’t have with the other teachers.

remember when you were a kid and whenever your parents came into the room while you were doing something for pleasure like looking at something on the computer or watching tv and you’d immediately close the thing like you’d just been caught watching porn when you were actually doing nothing wrong this post was made by strict parents with no boundaries gang
